About – Concern India Foundation
Established in 1991 as a registered non-profit public charitable trust, Concern India Foundation operates under the motto of ‘Helping People Help Themselves’. Our primary objective is to empower the disadvantaged to achieve self-reliance and lead lives of dignity. We focus on key areas such as education, health, and community development, addressing fundamental aspects of human well-being.
Drawing from our extensive on-the-ground experience, we strive to build sustainable programs that catalyze self-sufficiency within communities.
We operate in two main capacities:
- Collaborating with grassroots organizations driven by passion and purpose but lacking in financial resources. We provide not only financial support but also offer capacity building, system implementation, and strategic planning to ensure these organizations can continue their vital work beyond our initial support period. This approach has been instrumental in fostering positive transformations in the lives of various vulnerable groups.
- Engaging in direct implementation projects where we design, customize, and execute initiatives independently or in partnership with other entities. Our strategies are tailored to address the specific needs of communities, aiming to uplift and empower marginalized populations.
Through diverse initiatives spanning scholarships, girl child education, livelihood support, watershed management, NGO training, village development, and mangrove conservation, we have impacted the lives of children, youth, women, people with disabilities, older people, farmers, weavers, and other vulnerable groups across both rural and urban settings.
Over the past three decades, Concern India Foundation has collaborated with over 4,000 NGOs nationwide, operating through our teams in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune. This widespread engagement has resulted in a substantial positive influence on over 5,400,000 marginalized individuals across 16 states in India.
Our relentless dedication underscores our commitment to fostering a more inclusive and equitable society. Through our endeavors, we continue to empower individuals to help themselves and lead lives of dignity, thereby making a significant and lasting impact.
