France Excellence Charpak Bachelor scholarship program caters to Indian students aspiring to undertake a full-time bachelor’s degree at a French higher education institution.
What is Campus France?
Campus France, a government agency operating under the French Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, extends its network to India through the cooperation service of the French Embassy. We offer personalized counseling sessions and host diverse workshops year-round for students interested in studying in France. These sessions aim to equip students with vital information about programs offered by various French institutions. Additionally, we arrange events such as the Choose France Tour with representatives from French institutions, Tech Fairs, international fairs, and pre-departure sessions.

The scholarship is awarded for the entire length of the Bachelor’s programme.

Eligibility
To qualify for the Charpak Bachelor scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Hold Indian nationality or possess an OCI card.
- Be no more than 23 years old at the time of application.
- Not have previously attended an educational institution in France.
- Have completed secondary school education in India.
Application Procedure
Students must apply for admission to a French institution before applying for the scholarship. For admission procedures, please contact your nearest Campus France office in India or refer to the website of your chosen institution.
To apply for the scholarship, you need to submit an application on the online scholarship platform http://ifi.scholarship.ifindia.in/ along with scans of the following documents:
- Passport size photograph
- Copy of the passport
- Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages)
- Copy of admission/acceptance letter from the French higher education institution
- Scanned copies of mark sheet and passing certificate of Higher Secondary School (XII) and Secondary school (X)
- French language certificate, if any (DELF /DALF)
- Letter of recommendation (optional)
Please note:
- If you haven’t received the acceptance letter from the French institution before the deadline, you can attach email correspondence to demonstrate that you’re in the process of obtaining the letter or will receive it after the scholarship deadline.
- If you’re applying to multiple universities, ensure to fill out the scholarship application form with information about your top choice. Only one online application per applicant is permitted. Submitting multiple online applications will lead to disqualification.
- Applicants who haven’t taken their 12th-grade final exams yet should provide information about their mid-term examination.
- All documents must be in PDF or JPEG format (word, rtf, odt, txt, msg documents, zip folders, screenshots, or scans of social media are NOT acceptable). Applications lacking required documents or containing incorrect documents will be rejected.
The French embassy isn’t obligated to respond to candidates with incomplete applications or those not considered for the scholarship award.

Selection Criteria
Your application will be selected on the basis of your academic excellence, as well as the consistency and quality of your statement of purpose. There is no CGPA/percentage cut-off for the scholarship.

- Opening of the call for applications: 1 February 2024
- Deadline for the reception of applications : 1 April 2024 (23:59 IST)
- Publication of results: Mid-May 2024
