Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarship 2024 is a merit-based opportunity offered by the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation (a non-profit organisation), to Indian students pursuing postgraduate studies at European, American, and UK universities abroad.

About Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarship

Since 1976, the Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarships have supported more than 480 Indian students in pursuing full-time Masters, MPhil, or Doctoral programs at leading institutions in the USA, UK, and Europe.

Recipients receive financial assistance of up to USD 100,000, covering tuition fees, living expenses, healthcare, and one-way airfare.

The Foundation collaborates with esteemed institutions including Imperial College London, the Royal College of Art (RCA) London, the University of Cambridge (Cambridge Trust) Paris, King’s College London (for PhD students*), and Hertie School Berlin through joint scholarship arrangements.

The Foundation gives scholarships in a variety of subjects but  DOES NOT  fund the following courses:

1. Business and Finance
2. Computer Science
3. Engineering**
4. Fashion Design
5. Film and Film Animation***
6. Hospitality and Tourism
7. Indian Studies without Contemporary Relevance
8. Management Studies (i.e. MBA)
9. Medicine, Dentistry, and related therapies
10. Music****
11. Public Health

Eligibility of Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarship

1. Eligibility Criteria for Applicants:
   • a. Indian passport holders residing in India at the time of application, born on or after January 1, 1994, and possessing a degree from a recognized university in India are eligible.
   • b. Candidates with an undergraduate degree from a recognized foreign university must have resided continuously, been employed, or studied in India for at least two years post-graduation to be eligible. Final-year undergraduates awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
2. Minimum Academic Requirements:
   • a. For Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, Fine Arts, Architecture, and related disciplines, a minimum academic grade of 65%, CGPA of 6.8/10, or GPA of 2.6/4 from a recognized institution is required.
   • b. For Mathematics, Sciences, Environment, and related fields, a minimum academic grade of 70%, CGPA of 7.2/10, or GPA of 2.8/4 from a recognized institution is required.
3. Admission Requirement: Applicants must have secured prior admission to their chosen institution and course at the time of application. The Foundation does not consider candidates without proof of admission.
4. English Language Certification:Candidates with English language certification as a conditional part of their offer letter must obtain the certification before applying for the scholarship.
5. Deferred Offer of Admission:Candidates with a deferred offer of admission must hold a valid offer for the academic year 2024-25 to be eligible for the 2024 scholarships.
6. Exclusions:
   • a. Applicants holding a postgraduate qualification (e.g., Master’s or PhD) from a foreign institution are ineligible to apply.
   • b. Candidates already enrolled or commencing postgraduate studies at a foreign institution are ineligible to apply.

Selection Procedure of Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarship

A dedicated, independent Inlaks Selection Committee is tasked with evaluating and selecting deserving candidates for scholarships.

Applicants are evaluated not only based on their past and current accomplishments but also on their potential for future success. Specifically, candidates applying for scholarships in art and design (fine/performing arts) will primarily be evaluated based on their portfolios.

The selection process comprises three stages:

1. Review of eligible applications.
2. Online preliminary interviews with selected candidates from the initial review.
3. Final in-person interviews with those who successfully pass the preliminary interview stage.

Applicants who do not receive any communication from the Foundation by April 19, 2024, should consider their applications unsuccessful.
