Job Summary and Key Responsibilities:
The University of North Dakota is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join its team in the area of optical imaging. The position involves developing, testing, and verifying novel biomedical instruments. The research focuses on:
- Developing and verifying biomedical instruments.
- Testing imaging systems on small animals.
- Applying image processing tools for biomedical image enhancement.
- Extracting biomarkers from spectral data.
- Utilizing artificial intelligence for automatic disease detection.
Eligibility/Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Engineering (Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer)
- Track record of published research in peer-reviewed journals
- Strong problem-solving skills and a determination to explore new ideas
- Excellent management and leadership skills
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
- Successful completion of a criminal history records check
- Eligibility to work in the US (this position does not support visa sponsorship)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with medical imaging, optical imaging, or BioPhotonics
- Research background in machine learning and AI
- Experience with signal/image processing
- Programming skills (LabView, MATLAB, Python)

- $45,000+ annually, dependent on experience
